Temple Kol Hamidbar is a Reform synagogue located in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Established on December 20, 1985, it is recognized as the first and only synagogue in Cochise County. The temple is affiliated with the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, and serves as a religious center for the local Jewish community as well as the surrounding areas.

Location and Architecture[edit]

Temple Kol Hamidbar is situated at 228 N. Canyon Drive, Sierra Vista, Arizona. The building is a one-story structure with ivory horizontal siding and a flat brown roof. The entrance is marked by a patio-style brown walkway leading to the front door. Inside, the prayer room has wood-paneled walls in the front half and white walls in the back half, with a white ceiling.

Governance[edit]

The synagogue operates under a lay-led governance structure. A Chazzan, also known as a Cantor, acts as the representative of the congregation.

Membership and Services[edit]

Temple Kol Hamidbar holds Shabbat services every Friday night at 7:30 pm. Membership is open to anyone interested in joining the congregation, with a process that involves a completed application and payment of membership dues for the first year. As of the last update, the congregation consists of 28 member families affiliated with the NFTY Southwest Region (SW) and URJ Camp Newman. The synagogue welcomes individuals and families to attend services or events, and provides support and community for its members.

As of the last available information, Dr. Sam Caron Ph.D. serves as the Temple President.
