Ten Broek Premier League
Ten Broek Premier League (TBPL) is an Annual Cricket League that is held in Bridgewater, New Jersey. The League rose to prominence in 2014, when a group of kids played the first unofficial season. In 2019, the league held its first official season, with 14 players representing 14 teams in a 5 week Regular Season. In 2020, the league was scheduled to run but was halted by the Covid-19 Pandemic in June. In 2021, the season returned with official status and had its biggest season ever, with 18 teams competing.[1][not in citation given] The most recent champion is New Zealand, beating Scotland by 1 Run in a formatted Test Match. TBPL plays in "The Ditch", often termed the "Lord's of America" by those who play there. The Max Capacity for the field is 300. TBPL has the best cricket team in New Jersey, with nationally ranked bowlers coming to test their skills on the self learned players. TBPL has had some controversy with some of its players bowling actions, and has been historically extremely dismissive of any "chucking" in the matches.

Concept
Ten Broek Premier League saw initial presence as a form of Backyard Cricket during the 2014 Season, but in 2019, the rules were formalized and the season first began. There are 2 formats that TBPL has in place: Solos and Teams. Solos pits 1 player against everybody, with a coin toss to determine batting and bowling lineups. Then, the batting player is assumed to have a ghost runner on the other side. This means when adjudging a runout, the stumps must fall on the end the batter is running to. In the 2019 Format, there were unlimited overs allowed, leading for monster solo scores such as Sri Lanka's 201(130), a TBPL record for most runs that still stands. For the 2021 season, due to the increase of players, the overs were reduced to 10. Once a batter gets out or finishes 10 overs, the next batter who was selected in the coin flip will bat. The bowlers alternate in a cycle every 1 over to change the game and make it more highpaced. In the end, the winners of the game are the 2 highest batting scores and the bowler who took the most wickets. For tie-breaks, a 3 ball super over will be bowled by a random person, and the batter that scores the most runs gets the win. The second format is the most traditional ones, as it follows the same procedure as regular team gameplay. However, instead of 11-11 matches which range from 20-50 overs, TBPL plays 5-5 or 6-6 matches with a 6,8,10 over count. This allows more action and more matches to be played. There have been some infamous moments during these games, such as India's 2*(37) on a last wicket stand to win the match. There have also been weather controversys, such as the 2021 Rain-Game, in which a squall thunderstorm struck the pitch in the final over of the game. The players from both teams tied the match, and agreed to a super over the next day to decide the match. The highest score ever recorded in a teams match was 125/1(8), in which New Zealand hit upwards of 60 and West Indies hit 40. The lowest score ever recorded was 2/4(2.3), in a run chase of 22 and the only runs scored were wides.
Notable Matches
One of the Greatest Games of TBPL History took place in TBPL 2021, in Netherlands vs Fiji. With their backs against the war and only 1 wicket needed to win, S.V for Netherlands batted 37 balls, holding strike, and taking the game to the final over. The team with S.V ended up winning the game on the last ball, sealing an improbable comeback.

- One of the most notable defenses in TBPL History, Ironic to players as S.V was noted for his terrible defense and needless wickets before the match. The match was won on the last ball of the game.
One of the poorest performances in league history came in the 2021 playoffs when Netherlands, needing just 1 run to beat Zimbabwe, got golden ducked. In the following super over, Netherlands got ducked again, and bowled a wide to get eliminated against Zimbabwe. This bizarre performance left the final score as such.

- Only time in TBPL History where a teams batting average through a playoff series has been 0 (S.V was ridiculed for days after this incident by his son, R.R)
TBPL 2021 FINALS
The Finals was a highly contested match as well. Its infamy comes with Scotland needing 4 runs from 90 Balls on a single wicket. "I should have won easily" says O.S, the player for Scotland. However, O.S performed one of the greatest chokes of all time and lost by 1 run. The scoreboard was as follows.

Rules
The Following are a list of rules the Board Directors used for TBPL 2021.[4]
Main Rules- 20 games must be played. The tiebreaker is win%
After 20 games, the rest of the games do not count for that person.
NO Tampering or fixing of games to manipulate standings, matches, etc. (Penalties issued by the TBPL board may include reduction of batting/bowling overs)
Teams must count your individual score. If not, divide the total score/player count.
Team match overs are situational, meaning depending on how much time we have, the number of overs may increase or decrease Playoffs-
There is a 17+18 play. Winner plays 16 seed for a chance at 1 seed and playoff qualification.
Solos- Solos are 10 Overs (Anything Less Does Not Count Unless Voted On By Majority)
For bowling, the overs must be divided equally. If not, then that over does not go towards total wickets.
Top 2 batting scores and Top wicket taker gets the win for the day
LBW is impact only unless it is obviously not hitting. E.g. sidearm or other end.
No Mercy Ball.

Afghanistan exited early from the competition, and so there were 17 teams left. The 16th and 17th seed played a play-in game to determine the 16th seed in the tournament, who would face Pakistan in the first round. West Indies, being the higher seed, needed to only win 1 match to advance, while Australia needed to win 2. This match put on display one of the greatest defensive totals of all time.

The 2021 Season concluded with New Zealand beating Scotland in the finals. Pakistan won the award for best newcomer with a 15-5 record, New Zealand won best bowler with 21 wickets in 20 games, India won best batter with a 13 ball 50 in the regular season, and Pakistan and Banglandesh both won MVP for their efforts in the season.
