Terracoin
Terracoin, also known as TRCoin or TRC, is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency utilizing a proof-of-work system under the SHA-256 algorithm.
Terracoin was created by an anonymous developer on 26th October 2012 and is based off the Bitcoin protocol.
Specifications[edit]
The Terracoin algorithm has limited the total number of coin creation to 42 million. Each block is generated every 2 minutes and every 1050000 blocks the reward halves. The coin uses decentralized governance and can also send transactions instantly. Terracoin is currently available on 6 exchanges.
Terracoin has slightly moved away from the Bitcoin model by moving into merged mining, that is to say the mining of the coin is only available through a similar SHA-256 coin like Bitcoin or Namecoin.
