Set in the early 1900s Thérèse Humbert is a French biographical crime drama, based on the life of one of the greatest con artists in French history.[1]
It follows the story of Thérèse Humbert coming up with the most elaborate lies to pull of the biggest financial fraud to scandalise Parisian society in the 20th century.[2]
The 1983 film was directed by Marcel Bluwal and written by Jean-Claude Grumberg. Starring many famous actors some of wich were considered industry royalties at the time.[1]
With Oscar and Emmy winning actress Simone Signoret as Thérèse Humbert alongside Robert Rimbaud as Frédéric Humbert and Anja Tolle as Ève Humbert.[1]
Other well known artists involved in the making of the film include: François Périer, Bernard Fresson, Guy Tréjan, Michel Aumond.[1]

Production[edit]
Filming took place over several months in various locations around Paris in 1982. Sets, props and costumes were made to look like they were from the early 1900s. Simone Singnoret's husband and famous actor Yves Montard is said to have visited the set during production.
