Thariode: The Lost City is an Upcoming Indian Historical film written and directed by Nirmal Baby Varghese. Based on the 2019 documentary film Thariode (2019) by him self, it is a fictionalized account of the gold mining of Thariode, Wayanad on 19th century.[1][2][3][4]

Plot[edit]

Thariode, tells the story of gold mining in Thariode, one of the most ancient cities of Malabar region, a long, narrow coastline on the southwestern shore line of the mainland Indian subcontinent on 19th century.[5][6]

In addition, English actors such as Luing Andrews, Alexx O'Nell, Scott Hinds, Amelie Leroy, Courtney Sanello, Brendan Byrne, Dylan Playfair, Ciara O'Sullivan have expressed interest in doing this film. The film also stars other prominent stars of India.

Production[edit]

On June 28, 2019, director Nirmal announced a fictionalization of Thariode, starring Australian-British actor Bill Hutchens.[8]
