Cody James Robert Taylor (born: September 11, 2006 [age 14]), better known online as TheColeMan_05, is a Canadian-Ethiopian YouTuber and Streamer best known for his collaborations with other famous YouTubers and Streamers.
Early Life
Taylor was born on September 11, 2006 in Etobicoke, Canada, and moved to Scarborough, Toronto when he was 2-3 years old.[1] According to Taylor, his father was an alcoholic, who commonly abused him whenever he got the chance.[1] He expressed interest in a career as a YouTuber as early as when he was 10 years old, when his father first bought him a game called Minecraft.[1]
YouTube Career
He started YouTube around 2017.[1] For his first few months, he mostly uploaded videos on YouTube semi-commonly and streamed almost daily on Twitch whenever he could.[1] His old content ranged from anything he could record back then. He commonly associated himself with his friends almost all the time when he was recording for the platform. In December 2020, he announced on his Twitter account that he had his PC upgraded.
On May 16, 2021, Taylor's father died in a plane crash caused by mechanical issues. The death of Taylor's father was featured in several news outlets and launched Taylor to fame.[2][3] Taylor became so popular that he was eventually featured in Esports events (as a commentator) and began to be supported by the Minecraft community.
Minecraft Championships
Minecraft Championship is a Minecraft Tournament organized by Smajor1995 and the Noxcrew, in which ten teams of four (later five) compete in a series of eight minigames decided by the participants. A point multiplier makes each game worth more as each round passes, incentivizing teams to vote for games they might be bad at early on in the event. In the end, the two teams with the most points face off in a round of "Dodgebolt" to decide the winner of the tournament. This makes it possible for a team to win despite potentially having fewer points than the first place team. Taylor debuted in MCC11.
He and Technoblade are the only two players to have never left the top 10 individual leaderboard during their participation in MCC.
Taylor is the only person to have never left the top 3.
