The Allore Company

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Allore Company was a building and lumber company established in 1903 by Edward J. Allore in Trenton, Ontario, Canada. Edward Allore was born in the Trois Rivieres region of Quebec in 1861. He traveled to Trenton to work for the Gilmour and Rathborne Lumber Company. Eventually he became head foreman for the company. Mr. Allore started his business selling lumber scraps from the Gilmour lumber yard from the back of a wagon he drove through the town of Trenton.[1] He eventually expanded his enterprise to serve the community for 76 years. Upon his death in 1953 the business was sold to two of his sons, Charles and Wilfred Allore. The Allore Lumber Company closed in 1979.[2]
