The Ariston
The Ariston are a British indie rock band formed in Guildford, Surrey, England, in 2021. The band consists of frontman, principal songwriter and guitarist Luca Slade[1], lead guitarist Clay Bennett, bassist Will Parsonson, and drummer Finn Bunce. The band's debut single Yellow Lines[2] dropped in August 2022, and has since been played at The Stoop[3] (home of Harlequins Rugby Club) for multiple home games and at Twickenham Stadium for the Big Summer Kick Off[4][5] on the 22nd April 2023. The band have performed at a wide selection of festivals including Pennfest, Hanwell Hootie, Wokingham Festival, and reached the final stages of the Isle of Wight Festival NEW BLOOD competition.[6] They supported Craig David at the 2022 Big Summer Kick Off at Twickenham Stadium to tens of thousands of people.[7]
The band members met at ArtsEd sixth form,[8] before meeting Finn Bunce at ACM in Guildford, and first performed together as teenagers in November 2021, before professionally releasing music in 2022.
History
In 2019, whilst at ArtsEd, Luca Slade, Will Parsonson and Clay Bennett, who all play guitar, began playing around in their lunch breaks together covering songs varying from John Mayer to Arctic Monkeys.[9] Slade wanted to form a band because only a year before meeting the others he had been part of another teen rock band called 'FlyOver'. They eventually were introduced to Finn Bunce on the drums once Bennett had put an advert at his university looking for drummers.
