The Battle Of Ghiladhari

The Battle Of Ghiladhari was a battle fought between Ahom Kingdom and Burmese.It was a part of first Burmese invasion of Assam fought in Ghiladhari located in present day Goalpara district. Badan Chandra Barphukan with about 16000 soldiers entered assam via. Patkai mountain hill to take revenge on "Purnananda Buragohain" who tried to assassinate him. Purnananda didn't fought in the battle as he was ill so he sent Daman Gogoi and Hau Bora. The Ahoms were badly defeated and Purnananda Buragohain also died of grief.
