The Biggest Lex
Alexis L Wilson (born January 21, 1997), better known as The Biggest Lex or simply Big Lex, is an American rapper from Salina, Kansas. In 2018, Wilson signed to King Entertainment, and secured a distribution deal with SS Music Group with Universal Music Group. Wilson is also known for other skillsets such as producing the instrumental to most of their music and writing all of their lyrics.
Biography
Alexis Wilson was born January 21, 1997 in Salina, Kansas. Her mother did accounting and managing work while her father dedicated his time to music. Years later, Wilson moved to Mobile, Alabama.
Wilson participated in poetry and writing competitions since the age of six. She would often watch her father record music after finishing homework. Months of watching her father record turned into Wilson writing their own arrangements for piano and guitar. Wilson also would partake in other school activities such as the scholar's bowl, book club, and the physics club. After graduating from Baker High School, Wilson attended the University of South Alabama for the study of Physics. Though Wilson did well in school, her interests were elsewhere. After their classes, Wilson would write parodies to pass time and even write freestyles for others. According to Stephen Centanni's interview at Lagniappe (newspaper)[1], Wilson said, "I wrote parodies before I started writing real music...My friends thought my first parody that I presented was pretty cool. It got me into writing more serious pieces..." In 2018, Wilson was recruited by a small independent label named King Entertainment. And in 2019, Wilson made the decision to drop out of college to contribute more time towards her music. She had taught herself how to produce and record her own music after a few bad experiences with local engineers and producers. Wilson now travels throughout the nation working with big time producers and tv film makers for scoring purposes.
