The Blue Hot Chili Peppers also known as BHCP are an underground rock band located in Minneapolis, MN. Started in June 2022 by Matthew Osuna Senn previously known for directing Spider-Man Darkest Hour and creating the comedy series the tennis channel the Mexican-American comedian was inspired to create the rock band by postpunk stars such as WILLOW, Iann Dior, and Avril Lavigne. The members originally consisted of Matthew Osuna Senn, Sahal "Saucy" Malcolm, and George Rodriguez however both left the band after less than a week together but the Blue Hot Chili Peppers still exists. Now the band consists of lead singer Matthew Osuna Senn, Tiktok star Christantine Godfrey on Bass, Yash Vyas on Guitar and Swami Marungar on Drums. The band has gained traction over the past two months through a series of Instagram reels that went viral most notably the video "Matthew covers 'I don't want to miss a thing' by Aerosmith in Chickfila". The video perfectly demonstrated the bands talent and ability to do just about any song as well as the groups authentic brand of humour. While their debut album "Album of the Summer" has been delayed and does not have a set date frontman Matthew Osuna promises the album will "Deliver the great sound that has been missing in music since the 90's" and that it will still come out before the end of August. The first side of the album just released on youtube and soundcloud and is set to top the alternative charts. The first 5 songs are getting praised for their distinctive styles and versatility across many genres with many different inspirations. The first song and the shortest one Freedom is a soft indie song similar to the works of Vance Joy and Rex Orange County. The song is one of the happier ones simply about being able to have the freedom to do anything. In the second song "Summer song" written and sung by Matthew Osuna Senn and Christantine Godfrey. The song is a feelgood pop song with a hint of country and hip hop similar to Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, and Carrie Underwood. The song is not about much but has an addictive, catchy beat. The third song is Matthew Osuna's personal favorite "Swimming" another feelgood pop song with some 80's synth flair that tells the story of a man on the worst date ever at the best place on earth. The song has a drum solo and guitar solo and is inspired by the Anitta hit Boys don't cry which is one of the lead singers all time favorite songs. The fourth "Living for the moment" is a heavier track inspired by Hair Metal bands such as Poison and Def Leppard. The track is about having the best night of your life and while that isn't an unknown concept for a song the way it's executed is totally unique. The last on the first side is Fireworks a Soft Rock song similar to Somebody else by the 1975 and With or without you by U2. The song is less about the banging drums and guitar riff as it is about the story it's telling and how he wishes the best for an ex he still has feelings for. While the album is not done and none of the videos have been released yet "the taste we've gotten so far is enough to keep us waiting" according to Paul Bizma.
