The City University of Hong Kong Students’ Union (CityUSU) (in Traditional Chinese, 香港城市大學學生會 ) is an officially recognised student organisation in the City University of Hong Kong.
General[edit]
The City University of Hong Kong Students’ Union is the sole organization representing all Members of the Union. Its session commences on 1 January and end on 31 December of the same year.[1].
Full Member[edit]
Any student registered in full-time or sandwich programmes (except postgraduate programmes and disaffilicated ones) at the City University of Hong Kong shall be a Full Member [2]
Objectives[edit]
According to its Constitution [3], the objectives of the Union are:
（1） To carry forward the spirit of freedom, democracy, independence, self-government, unity and mutual aid;
（2） To cultivate a sense of socio-civic consciousness and responsibility among members;
（3） To focus on the problems of society, and to participate in and accelerate the development of society;
（4） To serve the community;
（5） To advance and safeguard the welfare and rights and privileges of members;
（6） To widen the academic, cultural and intellectual scope of members;
（7） To provide means of communication with the City University of Hong Kong authorities, other external institutions and amongmembers; and
（8） To participate in the process of formulation of the University’s policies and assist in their implementation upon the request of the University.
Official languages[edit]
The official languages of the CityUSU shall be both Chinese and English [4].
