The Corrupted is a British crime thriller directed by Ron Scalpello from a screenplay by Nick Moorcroft. The film stars Sam Claflin, Timothy Spall, Hugh Bonneville, Shaun Dooley, Charlie Murphy, Noel Clarke and David Hayman, and follows an ex-convict who tries to win back the trust of his family after losing everything to a local crime syndicate.
Premise
Liam (Sam Claflin) is an ex-con trying to win back the love and trust of his family has lost everything at the hands of a local crime syndicate run by Clifford Cullen (Timothy Spall, who has high-level connections in politics, finance and the police force. Liam’s drive for redemption sees him caught up in a web of conspiracy, crime, and corruption. Despite efforts to rebuild his life, Liam soon finds himself caught up in a web of conspiracy and corruption, fueled by a bloody land grab that occurred across the City of London ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games. Liam is forced to make the ultimate resolution; confront the past in order to reclaim his future.[2]

Production
Development
On June 20, 2017, Eclipse Global Entertainment announced Ron Scalpello as director on their website.[3]
Casting
On February 5, 2018, it was announced that Hunger Games actor Sam Claflin joined the cast alongside Timothy Spall. Hugh Bonneville, David Hayman and Naomi Ackie were also added.[4]On March 16, 2018, Noel Clarke joined the cast as a police detective.[5]
Filming
Principal photography commenced on March 16, 2018, in various locations around London, United Kingdom.[2]
Release
The film will be released on May 3rd, 2019 and will be distributed domestically in the UK by Entertainment Film Distributors. The theatrical trailer and poster was launched on April 5th, 2019.[6]
