The Deep (Artist)
The Deep (Korean: 더 딥; born Park Yoo-jin) is a South Korean singer-songwriter. She debuted in 2022 with the single album Muah!, which introduced her early alternative R&B sound.[1] In her later work, The Deep shifted her musical style toward electropop, incorporating elements of retro-inspired K-pop, UK garage, and electronic pop.[2] Her music reflects the growing popularity of “neutro” aesthetics, which combine Y2K-era influences with contemporary production styles.[3] This trend has also been observed in both global pop and the Korean music [4]scene, alongside releases such as BRAT by Charli XCX and LOV3 by Sik-K. The Deep is known for her involvement in multiple aspects of music production. In addition to writing and composing her songs, she also participates in mixing, artwork design, and video editing, contributing to a consistent visual and musical style across her releases.[3]
She has been described as an independent artist working outside of the mainstream K-pop system, with a growing international audience.[5]
