The Erwins are an American Southern gospel family group from Edgewood, Texas. The group consists of siblings Keith Erwin, Kody Erwin, Kris Erwin, and Katie Erwin Headrick. They perform primarily within the Southern gospel and roots gospel genres and record for StowTown Records. The group received wider recognition after winning a GMA Dove Award in 2020 and earning a nomination for Best Roots Gospel Album at the 63rd Grammy Awards.[1][2]
History
The siblings began performing together in childhood at churches and regional gospel events. The group performed as a male trio until the addition of sister Katie Erwin in 2013, which established the present quartet lineup.[3]
The Erwins released several independent projects before signing with StowTown Records. Their recordings with the label have been covered in gospel music trade publications and featured in industry reporting.[4][5]
In 2020, the group won a GMA Dove Award for Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year. The following year, their Christmas album What Christmas Really Means received a Grammy Award nomination.[2][1]
