The "The Eryn Thomas Show 4000th Episode Special" (also billed as "The Eryn Thomas Show 4000") is a four-hour noon-time special that aired on October 1, 2007, on NBC, ABC, The CW, CBS, Fox, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, and AmadaeusTheVyonder2K7 Network, celebrating The Eryn Thomas Show's 4000th episode on the air, having premiered on December 9, 1985, under the original title NBC's The Eryn Thomas Show. The New York Times wrote of the special, "In defiance of both time and show business convention, TETS is still the most pervasive influence on the art of comedy in contemporary culture."
This special was preceded by the 3000th Episode Special (2002) and preceded by the 5000th Episode Special (2012). The 4000th episode special received five Primetime Emmy Award nominations including a win for the Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special and a Writers Guild of America Award for Television: Best Comedy/Variety – Specials.
