The Excel Center is Indiana-based high school for adults that provides high school diplomas and post-secondary education. The school provides students with support services, including child care, transportation, and life coaching.[1][2][3]

The Excel Center was formed by Goodwill Education Initiatives, a non-profit organization in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2010.[4] It is owned by Goodwill Education Initiatives, a non-profit created by Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana, but shared with other Goodwill affiliates.
It was founded to allow adult students to earn a high school diploma and begin post-secondary education while providing child care and transportation services. The school has since expanded to over 40 locations across seven states and Washington, D.C.[5][6]
Structure[edit]
The Excel Center is designed for adults to return to school and earn a high school diploma.[7][5][8] Each Excel Center school provides life coaches, a combination guidance counselor and social worker, onsite child care, and transportation assistance. Students work toward a regular diploma and dual college credit or industry-recognized vocational certification in numerous fields, including pharmacy technician, information technology, and welding.[1][9]
The Excel Center also requires students to take dual college credit classes or an industry-recognized certification, which are provided free of charge to students.[5]
