The Fever ( TV Series )
The Fever is an American crime drama series, created by Sondra Anderson and Lorenzo Anderson and stars Asian American actress/model, Jarry Lee , who is also a cast member of the Netflix series, Dating Around. The Fever was first launched in 2015 and produced by Poyzen Productions and Volume Studios.
Now in its third season, the series was inspired by the short film, Yellow Fever, and streams on the SVOD platform, VFLIKS
Plot[edit]
Season 1 (2015)[edit]
The series follows Amber Choe, a New York City, high-end matchmaker that specializes in diverse relationships. Amber’s success and notoriety leads her to be nicknamed, The Queen of Passion. When Amber’s lesbian lover, Veronica Santos, an FBI agent, leaves her and transfers to DC., Amber becomes upset and enters her own profile in the company matching database called The Fever. The system becomes overloaded and over-inflates all of the clients profiles called passion levels. It leads to a wave of sex, betrayal, passion and murder with the killer lurking somewhere in Ambers 2,000+ client database.
Season 2 (2017)[edit]
Amber finds out that her best friend , Linda Wang, a nightclub owner has been murdered. Amber has her business partner and private investigator, Derek Carter leave no stone unturned to find Linda’s killer. As the investigation heats up, Derek determines that it was not Linda Wang that was murdered but her twin sister Laura Wang and that she was killed by Linda and Linda’s lover, Ravenna Diaz. The pair had been running a sex trafficking ring out of the nightclub and Laura was going to turn themin which lead to her death. In the season finale, Ravenna kills two homeless men who may have been witnesses to Laura’s murder as well as two NYPD detectives investigating the case. But as she tries to leave the murder scene she comes face to face with Derek who kills her but makes it look as if one of the murdered detectives took out Ravenna. Amber also has a Russian hit-women names Rita, kill NYPD Lt. Miller, who was also working with Linda and Ravenna in the trafficking ring and was one of Amber's clients.
Season 3 (2019-2020)[edit]
Sondra Anderson who played Amber Choe in season 1 and 2 moves on to be one of the show Executive Producers and Jarry Lee is chosen to take over the role of Amber. Season 3 opens with Amber confronting Linda who is unaware that Ravenna was killed and Amber shoots and kills Linda for betraying her. Season 3 is on-going as of November 2019 and will conclude in February 2020.

Reception[edit]
The Fever has received very positive reviews both from the LGBT community as well as the Asian American community as the main character, Amber Choe is both Asian American and a lesbian
