The First Ask is a 527 Political Action Committee (PAC) first founded in 2017. [1] The organization's goal is to support Democratic women candidates running for state and local offices. [2]
The First Ask was created in 2017 following the 2016 general election results. However, the organization was dissolved shortly thereafter. It was relaunched in 2024 by Caroline Welles. [3] She decided to bring back The First Ask because the lack of representation for women in government.
The First Ask's slogan is "Elevate. Empower. Lead." [4]
