The Free System[edit]

Summary[edit]

A Free System is a science-based, modular, political framework that constantly evolves through small-scale experimentation and electronic democratic votes.

As each governmental sector can be evolved independently, the system can work without multiple political parties and can focus on policies. As noted by activist author, Freequill, “some challenges may require a solution from one school of thought, others may require one from outside of current frameworks.”[1]

Within a Free System challenges are identified and solutions are explored and tested, upon which the public can vote. As Freequill notes, a “Free System is completely different to those offered by mainstream political parties. It is not capitalism, socialism or communism. It is not left-wing or right-wing—it is a different bird.”[2]

No private funding is permitted with a Free System as the general public, also known as the contribution pool, have 100% democratic power—there is no elite entry ticket.

A Free System is often referred to as a fluid system or wetware in so far as it is, to some extent, undefinable as it is free to evolve to best fulfill current targets. The changes are facilitated by scientific study and guided by a democratic vote. Therefore there can be extreme variants depending on the area and contribution pool of the system. A Free System in one area may transition to a cryptocurrency, and yet another Free System could move away from a monetary system altogether. Hence why is it often referred to as A Free System, rather than The Free System.

Freequill’s version of a Free System, also known as version 1.0, contained clear targets such as political transparency, greater democracy, improved health, and environmental sustainability.[3]

Etymology[edit]

The following is an extract from What’s Going On? How Can We Help?[4] and outlines the origin of the term Free System:

“The word 'free' refers to the system’s intentions: to facilitate a world free from slavery, dictatorships and dated tools and traditions that are holding us back from reaching our true potential. A world free from unsustainable and unethical practices. A world free from money, a focus on money or money as the primary goal. A world liberated from divisive structures founded on ego and ownership … Free also refers to the fact that the system is ‘anonymous’. It is not tied to a person, corporation or political party … [It is] not so much a ready-made complete solution, rather a free set of ideas that I encourage others to draw from. It is not an all-or-nothing fixed system and it is free to evolve.”
