The Generation Lab (formerly College Reaction) is a non-partisan youth polling and research firm based in Washington, D.C. It provides media partners[1], academic and research institutions[2][3], private companies,[4] and nonprofits[3] with youth insights and opinion data.

History[edit]

The firm was originally founded in 2016[5] by Cyrus Beschloss and Matin Mirramezani as College Reaction and was renamed the Generation Lab in 2020.[6]

Partnerships and work[edit]

The Generation Lab conducts several ongoing partnerships with media companies since its founding. It publishes a monthly Generation Lab/Axios (website) poll on political, tech, health, and cultural topics that pertain to young people.[7][8][9] Generation Lab has also established partnerships with Snapchat’s Good Luck America with Peter Hamby[10] and Morning Brew.[11]

Process[edit]

The Generation Lab polls young Americans – both students and non-students - aged 18-29. The Generation Lab conducts college polling using a demographically representative sample frame of students at community colleges, technical colleges, trade schools, and public and private four-year institutions.[1] Their youth panel uses a demographically representative sample frame of young people around the country, across educational, racial, political, geographic, gender, and economic backgrounds.[12]
