The Ghost Mental Arithmetic

The Ghost Mental Arithmetic is a new mental arithmetic method developed by Kuniaki Iwanami, a doctor from Japan who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tokyo. A series of 12 drill books are published by Shogakukan., and a handheld game console for learning mental arithmetic has been released by Takara Tomy Arts.

The most significant feature of this method is the ability to learn "mental arithmetic of 2-digit x 2-digit multiplication" in an incredibly short period of 6 hours. In fact, in a Ghost Mental Arithmetic class conducted jointly with Nichinoken, a tutoring school company in Japan, targeting third to fourth-grade elementary school students, all participants were able to solve 2-digit x 2-digit arithmetic problems within 3 to 6 hours

The method is adaptable to a wide range of mental calculations, including multiplication, division, fraction calculation, addition, and subtraction.
