The Goodwin Family are a now deceased family of 8. They all perished in the sinking of the RMS Titanic where they originally planned to cross the Atlantic Ocean from England to New York (destination was originally Niagara) as third class passengers.[1] They boarded the ship on the 10th of April, 1912. The entire family died on the fateful night of the 15th of April at approximately 2 am. Out of the 8 members who lost their lives, only one body was recovered, and it was that of Sydney Leslie Goodwin. The fate of the Goodwin family was like other third class families of the Titanic, especially with teenage boys and infants. The family had originally planned to cross the Atlantic Ocean to New York on another steamer, but the coal strike changed their plans and they were transferred to the Titanic.:[2]
