The Green Apple Awards for Environmental Best Practice were introduced by The Green Organization (an international, independent, non-profit, non-political environment group)[1] of United Kingdom in 1994 in order to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practices around the globe.[2] Since then, his award program has been running persistently (every year in November in the House of Commons, London) and it is considered one of the longest running international environment award program in the world.[3] The Green Apple Award consists of an apple-shaped ceramic trophy (with a marlble stand) and a framed certificate signed by the founder chairman of The Green Organization. Any individual, group, company or organisation in the world who is involved in green projects (to improve environmental performance or to support the wider goals of sustainable development) can get nominated for the Green Apple Awards.[4] [5] [6] [7] [8]
