The Guest List

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Guest List are an indie rock band originating in Manchester. Despite forming in Manchester in the early 2020s as part of Manchester’s evolving grassroots music scene, the band is keen to not become known as a "Manchester band".[1].

The band is formed of Cai Alty (the lead singer), Tom Quigley, Leio Hunter, Angus Gilchrist, and Sid Wallace [2][3].

The band's songs focus on social themes such as male suicide, social identity, and climate change [1][4]

History

The band originated in 2021 when school friends from Manchester began playing as a band, covering indie rock music, and posting videos online.

Following initial online traction, they decided to begin posting original songs. Some have described the music as sounding like early Arctic Monkeys and The Smiths [5].

They started gigs in Manchester, but have since evolved to touring across the United Kingdom, through festivals, opening acts, and their own UK tour.[3]

Their music has evolved into becoming authentic reflections of modern society's issues. This includes hard-hitting topics, such as mental health, domestic abuse, war, climate change, and relationships.[3][5]
