The Independent Photographer is a global network of photography enthusiasts and photographers..[1], an online magazine[2], and a monthly photo competition, founded in 2016[3]. It is based in Berlin, Germany, and Marseille, France.

The company regularly sponsors themed photography competitions, including The Travel Photo Awards[4], Street Photography Awards[5][6], The People Photography Awards, Emerging Talent Award[7], Color Photo Award, Black and White Photography Award[8], Portrait Photography Award, Landscape Photography Award[9][10][11], Open Call, and the Visual Storytelling Photography Award[12][13]. The Independent Photographer also has a traveling exhibition[14][15][16][17] and publishes an annual book featuring award-winning images from the competitions.
