The Isle is an open world survival video game, where the player takes control of one of several dinosaurs. It has been published on Steam as an early access game as of 2015[1]. There are two basic classes of dinosaurs (herbivores and carnivores), with different races of specific dinosaurs within each class (e.g. Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, etc.) who have their own game play styles. The basic game play consists of taking direct control of your chosen dinosaur, and growing it over time to adulthood by eating, drinking, and most importantly not dying. During the growth phase the visual appearance of the dinosaur changes, and it's stats change. Players choose a server they play on, and can engage other players in combat there. Grouping up is possible for dinosaurs of the same race, but not across different races. Players can communicate with each other in group chat and in a global chat.
