The Jesus Kids were an American children's Christian rock band formed by Jacob Nisworth (born December 22, 1989), LaShawn Daniels (born February 8, 1990), Sarah MacGuire (born May 22, 1990) and Christopher Newson (born January 27, 1991) in Atlanta in 1999. At the time of formation, the members were 8 to 9 years old. In 2000, the band signed to Christian music label ForeFront Records, and in 2001, recorded their debut album, Rockin' with Jesus, which was released in March 2002. The album charted on the Billboard 200, peaking at #57. The album went gold in the United States in July 2002, and platinum in January 2003, selling over 1 million copies. The album also spawned a hit single, The Noah's Ark, which went on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #68 in October 2002. The band would go on tour in support of the album in the United States and Canada throughout 2002 and 2003, performing at various churches. In 2004, the band released their second and final album, Praise the Lord. The album also charted on the Billboard 200, but only peaked at #112. The group split up in 2005.
