The Lost Button (originally Izgubljeno dugme) is 2014 Bosnian-Croatian documentary movie about Bijelo dugme drummer Ipe Ivandić. Theme of this documentary Ipe's life, career and death in January 1994.[1]

The movie was jointly directed and produced by Renato Tonković, Mario Vukadin and Robert Bubalo. During the five-year research, they spoke with numerous interlocutors in order to reconstruct the turbulent and tragic life path of Ipa Ivandić. The film features the members of the Bijelo dugme Goran Bregović, Željko Bebek, Zoran Redžić, Alen Islamović, Milić Vukašinović, group managers Vladimir Mihaljek and Raka Marić, rock critics Darko Glavan, Petar Janjatović, Petar Peca Popović, Ipe's sister Gordana Ivandić, his ex-girlfriends Amila Sulejmanović and Irhada Sulejmanpašić, then Dragan Jovanović Krle (Generacija 5), Dragoljub Đuričić (YU grupa, Leb i sol, Kerber), Gabor Lengjel (Teška industrija) and many others.

Synopsis[edit]

The Lost Button follows the spectacular and tragic life journey of Goran Ipe Ivandić, the explosive drummer of the most popular and influential Yugoslav rock band Bijelo dugme. The film tries to expose how Ipe Ivandić got stuck in prison for drugs (the "hashish in drums" affair), and also deals with the secret of his death, when, according to the official version, he jumped from the sixth floor of the Belgrade Metropol Hotel building. But many people close to him do not believe that version and think that he was killed. The film was shot in London, Zagreb, Vienna, Belgrade, Sarajevo, Budapest and Vares.

The Lost Button has screeings at Mediterranean Film Festival in 2014, Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival 2015, Vukovar film festival 2015, Sarajevo Film Festival 2015...

Awards[edit]

The Lost Button won best movie award at 9th Vinkovci DORF in 2015[2][3] and Grand Prix at 2015 Novi festival in Slavonski Brod.

Home video[edit]

The Lost Button was released on DVD in 2018 by Croatia Records.[4]
