The Magic Conch Shell
The Magic Conch Shell is an object utilized by SpongeBob and Patrick in the "fifth-longest running animated television series" [1], SpongeBob Squarepants, a show on Nickelodeon created by Stephen Hillenburg. The Magic Conch, voiced by Sirena Irwin, has appeared in two episodes: Club SpongeBob (Season 3, Episode 2), and SpongeBob's Place (Season 10, Episode 9). The seashell is a lavender color, with a string attached to it. The purpose of the shell is to answer any questions SpongeBob or his friends may have.
Club SpongeBob
In Club SpongeBob,[2] SpongeBob and Patrick are giggling in a shed on the top of a large vine outside of their homes. Squidward overhears them and attempts to join the club they are a part of[3]. Frustrated with the two of them and the conch (which represents the head of the club), Squidward attempts to leave by pulling himself down the vine. Bringing the shed down with him, the three of them are flung into a kelp forest, along with the conch shell. Trapped, SpongeBob and Patrick ask the shell what to do to escape. The Conch responds, "Nothing," to which they follow. Squidward is infuriated that SpongeBob and Patrick would listen to a toy. Later, food is dropped from above, and SpongeBob and Patrick praise the conch. Squidward asks the shell numerous times if he can also have something to eat, to which the shell continuously responds, "No." Squidward then believes they are finally saved when a Forest Ranger finds them. However, he is quickly disappointed and shocked to find out that the Ranger states his being there is a result of a magic conch shell as well. When the conch, again, tells them to do nothing, Squidward finally agrees, and praises the conch with them.
SpongeBob's Place
In SpongeBob's Place, the conch only makes a brief appearance.[4] In this episode, SpongeBob's boss, Mr. Krabs, is jealous of SpongeBob because all of the customers at the Krusty Krab love his cooking. Mr. Krabs decides it would be best for SpongeBob to go home, and tells him the Krusty Krab is haunted. While SpongeBob is at home, the conch appears on screen along with many other items, as SpongeBob is bored and playing games with his pet sea snail, Gary.
