The Morens Notice
On May 22, 2024, according to a Staff Memorandum written by the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic Republican Staff, Dr. David Morens, Senior Advisor to National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases former Director, Dr. Anthony Fauci, was alleged to have engaged in illegal activity and wrongdoing in violation of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Dr. Morens uses Gmail accounts to subvert the reach of FOIA. In an email dated February 25, 2001, Morens made reference to the ways government officials subvert FOIA, by stating: "[ ] I learned the tricks last year from an old friend, Marg Moore, who heads our FOIA office and also hates FOIA."
