The Old Man is an upcoming thriller television series based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Perry. It was developed by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine.
Premise[edit]
A former intelligence officer living off the radar finds himself targeted for assassination and is forced back into the world he left behind.

Production[edit]
The series was announced in July 2019, with FX ordering a pilot. Jeff Bridges was cast to star.[1] In September, Jon Watts was set to direct the pilot, also serving in an executive producer role, with John Lithgow and Amy Brenneman added to the cast.[2][3] Alia Shawkat joined in October.[4] In November, Bob Iger announced that the show would air on the Hulu streaming service, and Austin Stowell was added to play a younger version of Bridges’ character.[5][6]
