The Oxford Imps
The Oxford Imps are an improvisational comedy troupe based in Oxford, England, where they perform every Monday during University terms at the Jericho Tavern pub (since 2021); previously, they performed at The Wheatsheaf pub. They also perform a month-long stint annually at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at the Gilded Balloon and have also occasionally toured internationally. The Imps were founded in 2004.

The Oxford Imps were formed by a student, Hannah Madsen, and first performed at the Wheatsheaf pub in Oxford High Street in January 2004.[1] Starting in 2004, the Imps have performed at the Edinburgh Fringe.[2] They have also toured to Bosnia; France; Utrecht in the Netherlands; and Grahamstown, South Africa;[citation needed] and to Chicago, Illinois; Providence, Rhode Island; and Nashville, Tennessee, in the US.[citation needed]
They have performed radio shows on Oxide Radio, BBC Radio Oxford, and Fest FM.[citation needed]
On the Oxford Imps' tenth anniversary in February 2014, their 32 members performed at Oxford's New Theatre.[1]
TV appearances[edit]
On 25 March 2009, the Oxford Imps' team appearance on British daytime TV quiz Eggheads was broadcast on BBC2.
In 2015, Imp Adam Mastroianni appeared in the infamous Come Dine With Me series 7, episode 13 episode which includes the viral meme line of "Oh dear, what a sad little life Jane."
Notable members of The Oxford Imps include the stand-up comedians Rachel Parris, Sophie Duker and Ivo Graham, and the novelist and screenwriter Alice Winn.[citation needed]
