The Pre-Collegiate Global Health Review (PGHR) is peer-reviewed international global health journal for students in grades 9-12.[1] PGHR is a Johns Hopkins University student and faculty-led project within the Undergraduate Program in Public Health Studies in Baltimore, Maryland that aims to involve youth in the field of global health through critical writing and analysis. PGHR works in collaboration with The Global Health Leaders Conference at Johns Hopkins University (The GHLC at JHU), both of which are programs within Glohea at JHU, an academic student organization within the JHU Undergraduate Program in Public Health Studies.[2][3]

PGHR publishes approximately 5 articles per month digitally on its website. Articles have covered a broad range of global health topics such as gender biases in healthcare, infectious diseases, the American health insurance system, rural healthcare disparities, climate change, and more.[4][5][6][7][8] As of Spring 2021, PGHR has published articles from students in approximately 25 U.S. states and 7 countries.[9] In addition, they publish an annual themed digital publication.[10] There are no submission fees nor article access fees.

As of September 2021, PGHR’s Executive Board is led by Editor-in-Chief Siam Rezwan, Executive Editor Romila Santra, Executive Editor Devanik Biswas, and Director of Design and Marketing Maro Doce. PGHR is advised by Dr. Robert C. Bollinger, MD, MPH, Raj and Kamla Gupta Professor of Infectious Diseases and Professor of Medicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Founding Director of the Center for Clinical Global Health Education (CCGHE), and Associate Director for Medicine of the Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health. PGHR’s Editorial Review Board consists of Johns Hopkins University undergraduate students.[11]
