Development and filming[edit]

In August 2015, LMCTV announced on its news show The Local Live that a series titled The Rascal was in the works for the network.[1] The series Co-Creator and Executive Producer Andrey Gordon wrote the pilot, which he also directed. Filming for the pilot began in July of 2014 in Mamaroneck, New York.

Gordon served as executive producer for the series. The series was produced by Andrey Gordon Productions and LMCTV. It was filmed on location in and around Mamaroneck, New York.

The series was originally set to premiere in October 2015 but was pushed back one year due to production delays. In October 2016, LMCTV made the show premiere on Thursday October 27th instead of Friday the 28th due to scheduling conflicts with election material. On November 11th, the second and third episodes premiered and the series continued Fridays at 9pm until the sixth episode, which marked the end of the first installment.

After continued delays extending all the way through 2017, all promotional material began stating, "New Episodes Coming Soon." Then on October 31st, 2017, LMCTV announced that only seven more episodes of the show would be produced.[2] The show has continued to be filmed and no announcements have been made as to when "The Final Episodes" will air on LMCTV.

Casting[edit]

Stella Giordano, who plays The Little Girl/Young Abigail Daniels, was the first to be cast. Al Baio was then cast as Larry Crawford. Following this, Louis Simons, and Rebecca Berman were cast as Lt. Anthony and Ramona Barrington respectively. Nearly a year later, Alan Bendich and Mike Orsino rounded off the main cast for the first season, as William Petersen and Detective Ben Radner, respectively. Later, Sara DiFalco was cast in a guest role as Abigail Daniels, in the fifth and sixth episodes, and has since been promoted to series regular for the final installment.[3]
