The Red Mist is a creepypasta about Squidward Tentacles, a character in Spongebob Squarepants, committing suicide due to humiliation.
Plot
Squidward is seen practicing the clarinet. Then, a fish wearing Scottish clothing with abnormal, bloody eyes warns him that the Red Mist is coming. He then closes the door and continues practicing. He plays in a concert and everyone laughs at him. Going home in shame, he is swarmed with suicidal thoughts and ends up killing himself.
There are multiple adaptations of the story. However, the most critically acclaimed is by VibingLeaf.
Theory
The fish warning him about the Red Mist could possibly be a representation of the first signs of failing mental health.
