Production[edit]

The Ride began as an award-winning short screenplay, written by Joe Costa and Denise Carey-Costa. After taking the top prize at the 2019 Southeast Regional Film Festival, The Ride began development into a feature film during the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020, with writers Adam Ninyo and Patrick Moore. Principal photography commenced in summer of 2021.

Paul Sorvino’s final role as Paulie Amato was completed in one day. Sorvino performed with “great energy and enthusiasm”, regaling the cast and crew with jokes between takes. This is the second collaboration between Sorvino and director Adam Marino.

The Ride will premiere at the Southeastern Film Festival in Jacksonville, Florida in September 2022. An LA screening will occur at the Wilshire theater in Los Angeles, California in October.
