The Room Next Door is an upcoming American drama film directed by Pedro Almodóvar in his feature length English-language debut. The film stars Tilda Swinton, Julianne Moore, John Turturro, Alessandro Nivola and Anya Taylor-Joy.
Premise
The film is reported to centre on three women and explore the relationship between a mother and daughter.[1][2]
Cast
Production
The film marks the English-language debut feature for Pedro Almodovar.[3] In January 2024, it was reported that Julianne Moore would join Tilda Swinton in the cast.[4] Produced by Almodóvar’s El Deseo, select distribution rights to the film were acquired by Sony Pictures Classics, continuing a long-standing partnership that began with All About My Mother in 1999.[5] Principal photography was expected to start in New York in early 2024, with filming also set to take place in Madrid.[6][5] In March 2024, Alessandro Nivola joined the cast.[7] In April 2024, Anya Taylor-Joy joined the cast.[8]
