The Silencers, an American rock and roll band from Pittsburgh, PA (1979-1984) with two releases on CBS/Precision Records. Core members Warren King (guitar) and Frank Czuri (vocals) were also the primary songwriters, along with Cathy Capiola, Warren King's girlfriend at the time. Other members of the original band include Ron "Bird" Foster (drums, vocals), Dennis Takos (keyboards, backing vocals) and Mike Pella (bass, backing vocals). Other members have included Albriton McClain (bass), Michael Cercone (bass), and others (other names needed).

The band was a critical success as reviewed by Ira Robbins for Trouser Press magazine, and had a single, Shiver and Shake, that reached number 89 on the Billboard Top 100 chart.

Ira Robbins says The Silencers coulda been contenders.

There are also many typos in this article, particularly of band members Takos and Pella's names and the title of the second album, which is incorrectly referred to as Romantic.

Albriton McClain played on the band's early demos and first studio sessions. Before the first album was complete and before the first show had been played, the band added Mike Pella as bass player. It was the line-up consisting of King, Czuri, Foster, Takos and Pella that would become Pittsburgh club legends and regional touring successes.
