The Sisters of Dorley is a book series by Alyson Greaves. Set at the fictional Dorley Hall, it follows a clandestine program that coerces young men into gender transition, a premise the series uses to explore gender identity, transgender experience, and questions of consent.

Plot
The series follows the lives of the people who inhabit the mysterious Dorley Hall near the Royal College of St Almsworth, and the shared secret they all have. For all that it seems to be on the exterior, the real Dorley is not just college dorm, but a clandestine group to one by one improve the world by changing toxic men into caring women. This nearly gets turned on its head when Stefan discovers the Hall while trying to track down a close friend, but Stef sees this as a solution to his problems as he is a closeted trans woman. Stef poses as a potential target, hoping to be taken in by the group.
Publication
The first book in the series was originally published by Neem Tree Press, an which shortly after became an imprint of Boundless, until that publisher unexpectedly closed. The publisher had even begun taking preorders for the second book in the series, only to leave customers without their money or a copy of the book.[1]
Following the closure of Boundless, the series was picked up for publication by Wilton Square Books[2], a new publisher that set to initially assist the authors that were orphaned by Boundless.[3]
Publishers Weekly praised the debut as a "provocative blend of fairy tale and horror", crediting Greaves with "crafting such a unique and darkly funny narrative".[4] LoveReading, which named it a Debut of the Month in July 2024, described it as an exploration of toxic masculinity and the "battle of the sexes" that asks how far reforming men can go before it becomes punishment.[5]
The first novel carried cover endorsements from authors including Torrey Peters, Layne Fargo and Ray Stoeve.[6]
