The True Audio (TTA) is a lossless audio codec developed by TAUSoft (otherwise named TAU Projects). It is distributed for many operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows and Linux. It is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License and has several hardware implementations[1]. TTA is able to compress multichannel audio tracks, up to 24-bit.[2] It is usually contained in the Matroska container format, but can be used in a .TTA file extension.[2]
