The Uncles (Music band)

The Uncles is a rock band based in Sofia, Bulgaria. The band is focused mostly in the styles like Uncle Core and Uncle Rock. Current band members are: Todor Vasilev (Chicho Toshko) - vocals and phone app keyboards; Ivan Petrov (a.k.a. Vacho Maidena, a.k.a. Bai Ivan) - asynchronous guitar and wrong key back vocals; Veselin Vikyov (a.k.a. Vazu, a.k.a. Chicho Vesko) - slow drums and weak back vocals; Viktor Stamenov (a.k.a. Chicho Vicho) - balkan blood lead guitar; Nikolay Bratovanov (Chichi Niki) - self-taught garbage bass player (he got his bass form the US garbage).

History

First formation

The original band was formed in 2008-2009 in Botevgrad with the name Kyunets (a.k.a. Resonance). Some of the members took different roles in that first formation e.g. Chicho Toshko was band manager and critic up then and Vacho Maidena was the worst keyboard player ever born. Unfortunately the band splitted in two due to some contradictions between Chicho Vicho and the other band members. The main reason was that Chicho Vicho was the only one who was able to play something right in 2009. After that none of the two bands succeeded and the two fell apparat.

Reunion

Many years after the ancient events in 2009 Vacho Maidena decided to start learning guitar influenced by COVID-19 crisis, boring family life and depression and Frank Zappa. Vacho and Vazu decided to play together once and called Chicho Vicho it was on 1st of March 2022. After few months Chicho Toshko and Chichi Niki joined. The negotiations with Chicho Toshko were particularly hard according to Vacho's interview in "Trakalyashtia se kamik": "It was very hard to make Toshko sing with us. He is experienced opera singer now with 10 years of experience and he was very afraid that our music will overload or overwhelm him. I am not sure what exactly he said...". But finally Chicho Toshko joined and the band found the perfect voice. They are still waiting for him to hear Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd in order to sing it during the sessions.

The most famous song that The Uncles have not created yet is "I'm walking necked".
