The Winooski

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Winooski is an online satire site based in Vermont and focused on Vermont politics and culture. The site has touched on issues such as local roads, fake news, and local businesses, among other topics.[1]

The Winooski was founded by Vermont writer Adam Hall, who chose the name due to its native Abenaki meaning of "onion," a reference to national satire site "The Onion." Hall has said he founded the site to both make people laugh and think.[2]

In 2018 The Winooski responded to Vermont's controversial policy of offering $10,000 to people willing to move to the state with an article suggesting Vermonters would be willing to pay people $20,000 not to move to the state.[3]
