The Wordless Language Learning Guide is a language acquisition curriculum that was designed and illustrated by Paul R. Beeman.[1]. It was published by Lancer Learning Communities, LLC.[2] in the United States of America in July of 2022[3]

The Wordless Language Learning Guide is a wordless book that contains an introduction, instructions written in English (additional versions available in French, Arabic and Portuguese) and 22 image-led lessons.

The two page introduction gives the reader a brief overview of why the book was created and introduces the reader to it's method.

The instructions are three pages describing how to use the book.

The rest of the book contains no words, only images. Lessons are designated by hand signs with fingers indicating the number of the lesson. Each lesson is led exclusively by hand drawn line art. Nouns are illustrated as objects either by themselves or within a box, phrases are illustrated in squares with speech bubbles, verbs are illustrated in circles, descriptive words are illustrated with arrows or within rounded rectangles. Each lesson is meant is contain the maximum new vocabulary a learner is able to learn in a day.

Purpose[edit]

The Wordless Language Learning Guide was created for international travelers seeking to learn local languages from locals. It is a curriculum designed for first time language teachers and learners. As a language learning tool, it performs two functions. It organizes language acquisition and provides images to assign meanings.

Use[edit]

The Wordless Language Learning Guide is used by international travelers to learn language in oral societies. It is also used by English as a Second Language instructors as a tool for introducing new vocabulary.
