From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Theodor Kocher Prize is an annual research award presented by the University of Bern to outstanding early-career researchers. Endowed with CHF 50,000, the prize recognizes excellent and innovative scientific achievements across all faculties and disciplines, including interdisciplinary research. It has previously been referred to as the Nobel Prize for early-career researchers.[1].

Candidates are nominated by two established researchers, one of whom must be a professor at the University of Bern. The nominated work should have been carried out primarily by the candidate and, where possible, at the University of Bern [2]
