Theodore Romero, commonly known as Tipy or Bodhi (born March 9, 2007) is a Mexican-American public figure, content creator, and former software developer based in Michigan. Renowned for his achievements in programming and political advocacy at a young age, Romero has established himself as a prominent voice in digital media and political discourse.
Early Life and Education
Theodore Romero was born in Plainfield, New Jersey, on March 9, 2007. Although he faced minor birth complications, his early years were characterized by frequent relocations, as his family moved from California to Arizona before settling in Michigan.
Tipy was an active participant in extracurricular organizations such as the National FFA Organization and 4-H, where he contributed as both a volunteer and a competitor in FIRST Robotics Competitions. Additionally, he excelled in Track and Field, earning numerous awards and achieving remarkable victories as early as the fourth grade.
Romero’s interest in technology emerged at an exceptionally young age. By the age of four or five, he was developing games and websites using mobile programming tools and cloud-based platforms, showcasing an early aptitude for software development.
Alongside his academic and extracurricular pursuits, Romero developed a deep interest in spirituality and philosophy. He began following the Theravāda Buddhist path, emphasizing mindfulness, discipline, and compassion as guiding principles in his personal and activist life. In addition, he cultivated a strong curiosity for Sikhism, particularly its teachings on equality, justice, and service, which he has explored as part of his broader engagement with world religions and philosophies.
Career
Tipy describes himself as "an inspired and aspiring software engineer, entrepreneur, and content creator." His career spans multiple disciplines, including content creation, philosophical and historical studies, and advocacy for political, environmental, anti-corruption, and feminist causes.
Among his most notable projects is, now defunct, 7Suki, a free-speech social media platform designed as a text-based board. While its mission was to encourage personal expression and independence, the platform became controversial and was eventually shut down due to incidents of cyberbullying, threats, and legal violations.
Romero is also the founder of the nonprofit organization Moving Forward, a youth-driven activist group focused on environmental justice, democratic participation, and progressive political change. Operating as a grassroots organization, Moving Forward advocates for sustainability, climate action, and community-based solutions to systemic issues, with an emphasis on mobilizing younger generations In addition to his activism, Romero launched AdBrew, a digital marketing and advertising company. AdBrew specializes in helping creators, small businesses, and organizations expand their reach through social media growth strategies, brand development, and targeted campaigns.
Beyond these entrepreneurial and advocacy efforts, Romero maintains a strong presence on platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok, where he discusses political topics and shares content that resonates with his audience.
Political Contributions
In 2024, Tipy played a significant role in the Harris-Walz presidential campaign (Kamala Harris and Tim Walz), where he contributed to political advocacy efforts that reportedly inspired over 20,000 interactions and drove more than 10,000 confirmed votes. His work in this campaign underscored his dedication to civic engagement, voter education, and political strategy, showcasing his ability to effectively mobilize and engage diverse communities.
Tipy collaborated with notable public figure Knowa De Baraso (commonly known by his online alias, KnowaWasTaken), an influential voice in political commentary and digital organizing. Together, they amplified the campaign's message through innovative digital outreach strategies, grassroots mobilization, and educational initiatives designed to empower young voters and underrepresented groups. Their partnership proved instrumental in creating a robust online presence for the campaign, driving conversations on critical policy issues, and encouraging meaningful voter participation.
While this work demonstrated his ability to contribute meaningfully within the framework of a major-party campaign, Tipy has since become an outspoken critic of the American two-party duopoly. Disillusioned with both the Democratic and Republican parties, he has shifted his political outlook toward independence, third-party advocacy, and nonpartisan organizing. His current focus is on promoting electoral reforms, building platforms for alternative voices, and advancing democratic participation beyond the confines of the dominant two-party system.
Online Presence and Vision
Tipy has expressed his vision for the future on his personal (now-defunct) website, stating his aspiration to become a content creator, entrepreneur, and Environmentalist. He dedicates much of his free time to programming, learning new things from different subjects, meditating, learning religions and periods in history, talking to his community, advocating for important things, philosophizing and reading on philosophy, and experimenting with projects related to web development and gaming.
He credits his early involvement in political advocacy, content creation, teamwork, and collaborative remote projects with honing his technical expertise, volunteering admiration and communication skills.
