Third World Romance is a 2023 Filipino romance film directed by Dwein Ruedas Baltazar, starring Carlo Aquino and Charlie Dizon. It was written by Jeko Aguado and Baltazar, and was produced by Black Sheep and ANIMA.[1] It screened as the closing film of the 19th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival[2] before its regular theatrical release on August 16, 2023.[3]
The film is about Britney (Dizon) and Alvin (Aquino), blue-collar workers who meet at the height of the Covid pandemic. They become co-employees at a grocery store, but their budding romance is beset by persistent economic difficulties.
