Thog is a 9½ foot tall blue monster. His size may make him imposing, but he has a sweet and gentle disposition.
Biology
Thog is a blue Hippo/Bigfoot/Dinosaur/Lion-like hybrid monster with a Tyrannosaurus/Alligator/Crocodile-like nostril, a Hyena-like tongue, a Hippo-like mouth and buck teeth, a Minotaur-like face, a Bison-like head and cheeks, a Gorilla-like eyebrows, a Zebra-like eyes, a Donkey-like ears, a Bull-like horns, a Yeti-like hair, Elephant-like neck, a Bigfoot-like arms, an Orangutan-like elbows, a Panther-like paws, a Tiger/Baboon-like finger, Bear-like claws, a Triceratops-like body, a Chimpanzee-like bottom, a Koala-like stomach, a Tiger-like belly, a Stegosaurus-like hump, a Wallaby/Hare/Panda-like legs, Kangaroo-like feet, Polar Bear-like toes, Brontosaurus/Monkey/Lion-like tail and a Cow/Lion/Rhino-like tuft.
He first appeared as one of Cosmo Scam's evil henchmen in the 1970 Christmas special The Great Santa Claus Switch, partnered with a green monster named Thig. In a 1971 Dick Cavett Show appearance, Jim Henson referred to Thog as a large Frackle, though Thog is not generally considered part of that group of monsters.
