Thomas Rank (born August 14, 1997) is an American online personality, comedian, and entertainer. He is the first person to symbolically marry an alcoholic beverage,[1] as part of an event and joke. Rank also hosted a philanthropy bike ride, which raised money for pediatric cancer research in 2019.[2]
Early life and education
Rank was born in Kansas City, Kansas and went to Avon High School where he went on to graduate from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in human resources management and obtained his master's degree from University of Indianapolis.[3]
Career
Rank is a full-time human resources professional located in Indianapolis. He performs comedy and entertainment events as a hobby and is not affiliated with Hard Mountain Dew.[4]
In late 2022, Rank made headlines by participating in an event where he symbolically married a can of Hard Mountain Dew, which is a hard soda that is produced by Boston Beer Company in partnership with PepsiCo.[5] He has stated in press releases: "to continue the joke and take the can marriage across the world to meet new audiences and entertainers."[6]
Personal life
Rank lives in Indianapolis and plans on basing his career in the United States and has stated his love for comedy, history, and philosophy.[7]
