Thomas (Tom) Tullis (1952-2020) was a user experience researcher, author, and teacher. He passed away from complications from COVID on April 29,2020.[1]

Education[edit]

  • BA from Rice University
  • MA in Experimental Psychology from New Mexico State University
  • PhD in Engineering Psychology from Rice University

Career[edit]

Tullis contributed over 40 years of experience to the field of human-computer interaction.He published more than 50 papers in technical journals and held eight U.S. patents. He was also an Adjunct Professor at Bentley University. Tullis retired in 2017 from his position as Vice President of User Experience Research at Fidelity Investments. He joined Fidelity in 1993 and helped build the company’s user experience organization and usability lab. Before joining Fidelity, Tullis held positions at Canon Information Systems, McDonnell Douglas, Unisys Corporation, and Bell Laboratories.[2]
